Δωρεάν Λογισμικό από τη Microsoft για μαθητές και σχολεία

Επειδή καμιά φορά η Microsoft μπορεί να είναι "αναγκαίο κακό" υπάρχει δυνατότητα για προμήθεια κάποιου δωρεάν λογισμικού από το
www.dreamspark.com . Βασικά έχει ενδιαφέρον ότι δίνουν δωρεάν τα Windows 2003/2008 Server και το Visual Studio 2008/2010, καθώς και μερικά άλλα. Στο σχολείο μου έχω κατεβάσει και εγκαταστήσει νόμιμα από πέρυσι τα windows 2003 server.
Αν ενδιαφέρεται κάποιος πρέπει να κάνει μια δωρεάν εγγραφή πριν τα κατεβάσει.

Windows XP/7 ή Office ΔΕΝ ειναι δωρεάν

Σε κάποιο σημείο της διαδικασίας, ζητάει να πιστοποιηθεί με κάποιο τρόπο ο μαθητής ή το σχολείο. Μπορείτε να μου πείτε πως διεκπεραιώσατε την πιστοποίηση αυτή;;

Σε κάποιο σημείο της εγγραφής ρωτάει στοιχεία για το σχολείο κλπ.
Αφού δοθούν στέλνονται κωδικοί για τα κατεβάσματα. Εμένα έστειλαν κωδικούς για 100 μαθητές.
Δυστυχώς δε θυμαμαι λεπτομέριες, απλά ακολύθησα τις οδηγίες που έχει

Εμένα μου ζήτησε να στείλω fax ή email με κάποια στοιχεία τυπωμένα σε χαρτί με την "επίσημη κεφαλίδα" του σχολείου.

Εμένα πάλι μου ζήτησε στοιχεία σχολείου και υπεύθυνου καθηγητή και μια μέρα μετά μου στείλανε ένα κωδικό με e-mail. Δεν μου ζήτησε fax ή άλλα στοιχεία του σχολείου.
Κωδικούς για μαθητές δεν ζήτησα...

Παιδιά αρκετά ενδιαφέρον παρουσιάζει η συγκεκριμένη ιστοσελίδα. Απ` ότι είδα όλες οι Express Edition είναι χωρίς κωδικό και άμεσα προσβάσιμες. Τώρα οι υπόλοιπες θέλει πιστοποίηση ιδρύματος. Μπορείτε να δώσετε περισσότερες πληροφορίες;

Ούτε εγώ συνάντησα κάποια δυσκολία.

Συνδέθηκα με το λογαριασμό μου στο hotmail (δουλεύει και με λογαριασμό στο windows live), έδωσα το όνομα του σχολείου (όσο καλύτερα μπορούσα να το αποδώσω στα εγγλέζικα), ένα προσωπικό μου email και σε δύο μέρες μου ήρθε mail με οδηγίες. Κατέβασα και εγκατέστησα το Windows Server 2003 χωρίς κανένα πρόβλημα.

Συνάδελφοι μην εγκαθιστάτε λογισμικό από το DreamSpark στα εργαστήρια, δεν επιτρέπεται. Είναι μόνο για μαθητές.

Ρώτησα τη Microsoft, παραθέτω την απάντησή τους.

   * Our school's computer lab, which is only used by students and teachers for educationa­l purposes, currently has only Linux installed. Are we allowed to install Windows 2008 Server on each one of its 12 PCs, to make them dual-boot so that the students can also see/work on the Windows OS?
   * If yes, then why would any school buy Windows Licenses, it we're allowed to install Windows Server for free?
   * If not, then I didn't really understand the purpose of the DreamSpark program. Which installati­ons are permitted and which ones are not? (of course I'm not talking about school office PCs, I'm talking about computer labs which are only used for lessons).

Υ.Γ. οπότε mour αφού δεν επιτρέπεται εγκατάσταση σε σχολεία, αν θες κάνε επεξεργασία του μηνύματός σου για να μην παρανομήσουν κατά λάθος κι άλλοι συνάδελφοι.
Π.χ. έναν καθηγητή παλιότερα τον τρέχανε στα δικαστήρια για άδειες Windows σε σχολικό εργαστήριο...

Εχμ, επειδή είναι επιεικώς απαράδεκτο να μας δίνουν αντιδιαμετρικά αντίθετες απαντήσεις, ξαναέστειλα μήνυμα στον δικό μου representative και έκανα CC και στον δικό σου representative και σε σένα (ελπίζω να μη σε πειράζει) - υποθέτω ότι τώρα που θα έρθουν σε αντιδιαστολή, θα μας δώσουν κοινή απάντηση...

Είχαμε επικοινωνήσει με τη Microsoft Hellas πριν επικοινωνήσουμε με το αγγλικό Customer Service, και η απάντηση ήταν αρνητική, ότι δηλαδή δεν μπορούμε να τα χρησιμοποιήσουμε για την υποδομή του εργαστηρίου. Για να δούμε τι θα πουν και σε σένα, θα έχει πλάκα να πουν πάλι το αντίθετο...

Παιδιά... αυτούς λογικά τους συμφέρει να είναι μόνο για το εργαστήριο. Το να μας λένε πως μπορούν οι μαθητές να κατεβάζουν νόμιμα και δωρεάν το λογισμικό  για το σπίτι τους (μπορεί και κατά επέκταση και για τους εκπαιδευτικούς τους) είναι μεγάλο ζήτημα.  Ρωτήστε αν μπορούν να το κατεβάσουν και οι εκπαιδευτικοί τους;

Απάντησαν χωρίς να προσθέσουν κάτι διαφορετικό από αυτά που είχαν πει στο πρώτο mail, οπότε και τους ξαναζητάω για τρίτη φορά να μας το κάνουν πιο σαφές:

The problem is that we have a *written* answer from a Microsoft
representative (Angel) stating that it's *legal* to install Windows
Server from DreamSpark to our schools computer labs.

So *many* Greek schools now are following Angel's statement and are
installing Windows Server on their labs. But you and Jeet are saying
that it's illegal.

Since both contradicting answers come from the same source (Microsoft),
we can't prefer one over the other, unless you acknowledge that one of
them was wrong, and invalidate that answer.

So here's what we're expecting:
"yes, you're right, our XXX representative was misinformed and the
answer he told you was wrong".

That answer needs to be sent to mΧΧΧ@gmail.com as well, because he's
the teacher that you misinformed, and who in turned passed that
information to several other schools.
That's why I'm CC'ing him, as well as the other support ticket.

Απ' ότι φαίνεται ως τώρα πάντως το DreamSpark είναι για τους προσωπικούς υπολογιστές μαθητών και καθηγητών αλλά όχι για σχολικά εργαστήρια.

Με τόση αβεβαιότητα τελικά βλέπω ότι είναι διαθέσιμο λογισμικό που δουλεύει χωρίς crack κλπ ΑΛΛΑ καλύτερα να μην μπλέξουμε να μπει στα σχολικά εργαστήρια. Όπως πάει η δουλεία θα μείνουμε με το LINUX θα κανουμε τη δουλειά μας και η Microsoft θα μας κυνηγάει να ξαναβάλουμε Windows

εγώ λέω κάθε μαθητής μας να "υιοθετήσει" από έναν υπολογιστή του εργαστηρίου και να εγκαταστήσει στη συνέχεια εκεί ότι θέλει.. αυτά είναι εργαστήριο με 13 μηχανήματα με dual-boot ltsp και win2003/2008
